Catalina Huros

was born in Bucharest in Romania and studied there at the music academy. She changed in 1991 to the Hochschule der Künste Berlin, where she studied with Georg Sava. After her final examination in 1994 she took part in master classes with Vladimir Krajnev as well as giving numerous concerts at home and abroad as a soloist with different orchestras. She has given frequent piano and sonata recitals as well playing much chamber music in various combinations of music.

Karl Huros

is principal cellist since 1990 in the State Orchestra of Braunschweig in North Germany. He was born in Arad in Romania and began his studies in 1983 with Aurel Niculescu at the conservatoire in Bucharest , finishing there four years later with the state diploma.
Immediately after this he become principal cellist in the State Philharmonic Orchestra in Ploiesti. He completed his studies in Germany with Wolfgang Boettcherin Berlin and the soloist's class with Klaus Heitz in Hannover. In 1986 he took part in the international Tchaikowsky Competition in Moskaw, where he was awarded a special prize for the best interpretation of Prokofiev's Cello Sonata. Besides his orchestral activity he has performed frequently as a soloist, as well as doing recital work and giving chamber music recitals which have led to tours of Korea and Japan.
